The reason Comic-Con isn't as huge anymore is that Disney basically decided it was done paying San Diego and sharing headlines with other studios.

So, while they still play nice, they focus all their energy on D23, their own festival that they charge Disney fanatics to attend, where they just market their movies and TV shows and charge a premium for park access.

And they do it in Anaheim, right at their HQ.

It's maybe one of the most ingenious inventions of all movie and TV marketing in the modern era. People flock to this, and Disney becomes the star, going viral again and again.

Plus, fans get casting, trailers, concept art, release dates, and a summary of updates coming to Walt Disney World.

Let's dive in.
