Get Inspired to Make Cinema Again (and Again)

Celluloid
Some days, things get heavy... so get inspired to make cinema again!

This year has weighed heavily on all of us, and getting and staying inspired has not been easy. When pursuing a career as a filmmaker, you need to find the things that keep you on track.

What are some things you go back to that make you feel like creating?

This video from Slyfer2812 comes with this emotional journey tied to it.

"This year," Slyfer2812 writes, "I took the huge decision to do cinema for a living. I wanted to put this video online now so I will always have a memory of what is cinema to me, how I see it, and what it makes me feel. I have no pretension with this video, nothing to teach you, just to share my love for this art. "

Hopefully, it inspires you too.

Let's talk more after the jump.

Get Inspired to Make Cinema

Making movies and TV shows is an uphill battle. You're constantly hearing "no," and even the times you hear "yes," you have to compromise to make your vision come alive. But still, there's something about being on set that is intoxicating.

There is no place I would rather be than amongst creative people... creating.

As we have written about before, this is a marathon, not a sprint.

But you need to stay hydrated to finish. That's why I try to return to quotes that push me to be my best, and I revisit movies and TV shows that I think help me become the best writer I can be.

What are some projects or methods you use to stay in the game?

What about movies or TV shows that keep you motivated?

Let us know what keeps you inspired in the comments! I can't wait to watch more and hear what keeps you all creating.

The Hollywood floodgates opened in August with so much production. Fascinating journey working with the new covid safety protocols, it's changed the face of film making.
Took years of being on-set and created a card game called 'getCrewd'. It's your backstage pass.

One of the things I do for inspiration: I put in a random slideshow a collection of pictures (screencaps from movies, paintings, architecture, space photos, microscopy, geology, nature, people and other things I think are inspiring), also maybe I put some movie soundtrack in the background and watch the slideshow like I watch a movie.
