Today, Sigma announced it will be holding a virtual event online to present a new DN series of interchangeable lenses on Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2020, at 7:00 a.m. ET/4:00 a.m. PT.

What caught our attention is Sigma suggesting it's a "new DN series." It's been rumored that the company has development plans for Canon's RF mount, Nikon's Z-mount, as well as Fujifilm's X-mount.

Could this presentation be for one of those?

No other information has been shared other than the lens (or lenses) will be part of the DN series, which indicates it will be for mirrorless camera bodies.

It would be unusual for Sigma to have a presentation just for one lens. In the past, the company released lenses without presentations, but maybe it's something unique for the Sony E-mount, Canon EF, or L-mount.

If it is one of the rumored mounts, it would be a welcome addition to Sigma's extensive line of optics. Fujifilm, Nikon, and Canon have done an excellent job rolling out lenses for their respective mirrorless camera systems. Adding a Sigma option would be great for shooters.

So what do you think Sigma will be announcing? Let us know in the comments below.
