The Last of Us takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where a fungal infection has devastated humanity, turning people into aggressive creatures known as "infected." The story primarily revolves around the journey of Joel (Pedro Pascal), a hardened survivor, and Ellie (Bella Ramsey), a young girl who may hold the key to a potential cure for the infection.
The series explores their complex and evolving relationship as they navigate the dangers of the post-apocalyptic world, and when we got to episode 103 in the series, it seemed like everyone was buzzing about the landmark love story at its center.
We follow Bill (Nick Offerman) and Frank (Murray Bartlett), two men thrust together by the apocalypse, who fall in love and take care of each other through thick and thin. It's a funny, heart-wrenching, and beautiful story that really caused The Last of Us to differentiate itself from other zombie shows and break out with the general public who didn't play the game.
