The WGA and AMPTP have not talked since May 1st, but tonight there was a promising update regarding the strike.

A little after 8 PM tonight, WGA members received an email from the negotiating committee which read, "The AMPTP, through Carol Lombardini, reached out to the WGA today and requested a meeting this Friday to discuss negotiations. We’ll be back in communication with you sometime after the meeting with further information. As we’ve said before, be wary of rumors. Whenever there is important news to share, you will hear it directly from us."

Obviously, this does not mean there will be an immediate settling. There are still divides when it comes to minimum staffing, duration of employment, residuals, AI, and other topics.

But starting a conversation is an incredible first step.
