Responding to users who were looking for a compact wireless video receiver-only for director's or AC monitors, Teradek has introduced the Bolt Sidekick. This new receiver doesn't affect other receivers you may have on set, and is specifically designed for when you need something relatively close to camera that is small and convenient enough to fit on a director's rig, and still let you have your other main receiver at video village or wherever you need it.

The Sidekick is designed to work with all 2nd generation Bolt Pro 300, 600, and 2000 transmitters, and will have 300ft. line-of-sight capabilities.

Here are the specs:

  • Available in SDI or HDMI
  • 300 ft. Range Line of Sight
  • Pairs with 2nd Gen. Bolt Pro 300/600/2000 Transmitters
  • Fanless design
  • 7-17V Range
  • 2-Pin Lemo Power
  • ¼ 20” Female Mounting
  • 9 oz
  • Pairable in-field
  • Likely Up to 1080p 60fps (Not listed anywhere but this is what the others can do)
  • Availability: October 2015
  • Price: HDMI — $1,790, SDI — $1,990

The will also have V-mount and Gold Mount battery adapters so that you can have pass-through power. Plenty of other professional wireless solutions have setups like this, so it's nice to see it here with the Teradek, a transmitter/receiver combo that gets a ton of use on smaller shows and indie sets.
