CASE Remote Air is the Smallest Wireless Camera Controller in the World
Sometimes great things come in small packages, especially when it comes to wireless remote camera controllers.
The CASE Remote has been given a big makeover with the all new CASE Remote Air, which is significantly smaller than its 2014 predecessor, so small in fact that it's being called the "smallest wireless camera controller in the world." By connecting it to your camera's USB port, the CASE Remote Air generates a Wi-Fi hotspot that allows you to connect to your smartphone, tablet, or PC wirelessly in order to control live-view, parameter editing, HDR, focus-stacking, bulb, time-lapse, video control, and more.
Though the CASE Remote Air has pretty much the same functionality as its competitors, its size is its major selling point. Measuring at 2.4" x 1.6" x 0.4", this thing is about the size of a business card, which makes it super portable and easy to handle.
Key Features
- 6.5 hours of battery life
- Weight: 1.7oz
- Wi-Fi connectivity
- Remote DIS (55 yards)
- Functions: live view, camera parameter settings, shoot and view photos, video control, time-lapse, HDR, focus-stacking, peak focusing, histogram, bulb, sharing and uploading
Though the CASE Remote Air is compatible with virtually all operating systems, including iOS, Android, Mac, and Windows, you're kind of out of luck if you aren't using a Canon or Nikon DSLR—even though it does support pretty much all of the most popular models of both.
The CASE Remote Air is up on Indiegogo right now and has already surpassed its flex goal of $10,000 by 730%. Though a single unit retails at $199, it's currently going for $83, but only for a limited time. There are a number of custom built accessories that might interest users, including a motorized mount head for those who do a lot of time-lapses.
