After only 16 days in the field, GoPro announced a safety recall of all of their much hyped Karma drones due to sudden power loss, and if you owned one or more of the approximately 2500 units sold, you might've been pretty bummed out.
However, those unlucky enough to have bought one of these drones are about to see their luck turn around, because not only are they entitled to a full refund on the Karma and all Karma-related accessories, GoPro is also going to send them a free HERO5 camera for all of the trouble. The FAQ section of GoPro's Karma Recall and Return Information states:
Yes. You will receive a refund for your purchase. All components included with the Karma drone bundle, including HERO5 Black and Karma Grip, must be returned for a full refund. Once your complete return has been processed and refund issued we will send you a HERO5 Black as a thank you. For Best Buy customers to receive their HERO5 Black, please contact GoPro Customer Support directly and have your original transaction number available to confirm your product has been returned and processed at Best Buy.

So—that's a pretty sweet $400 early stocking stuffer! I mean, you might be out a problematic drone, but you're up a new action cam.
If you bought a GoPro Karma and still need to return it, make sure you read the return instructions so you can get your full refund and, yes, your new HERO5.
