The German company announced at NAB that the Thalia prime lenses will be available in ARRI LPL mount this fall. The large format series has 9 lenses ranging from 24mm to 180mm with an image circle of 60mm. The new mounts will include electronics for metadata and will be user-swappable on existing PL or XPL lenses.

Director of Communications, Seth Emmons, explains the company's decision to offer the lenses in LPL mount: "The idea is to maintain Thalia’s already future-proof performance." Prices have not been announced.

M 0.8

Leica expanded its M 0.8 lenses with interchangeable M mounts for ARRI's Alexa Mini and Amira cameras. The M mount is available now and can be swapped out like the PL and EF mounts—cameras will require a one-time hardware replacement of the cover-glass frame and front cover to provide room for the rear of the optics, a service can be done by ARRI. The M mount will also be available for Sony VENICE, but won't be available until summer.

Additionally, three new focal lengths, 50mm f/1.4, 75mm f/2.0, and 90mm f/2.0, will join the existing five focal lengths: 21mm f/1.4, 24mm f/1.4, 28mm f/1.4, 35mm f/1.4, and 50mm f/0.95 Noctilux. Delivery is expected this summer. Prices have yet to be determined.

The eight Leica M 0.8 lenses can be used with RED cameras with interchangeable OLPFs, including the Monstro 8K sensor, when using a custom CW Sonderoptic OLPF.
