Mando goes from town to town protecting the child and the people he touches. We've written about how The Mandalorian owes a lot to the western genre, as well as the samurai genre. But what about the genre that combined both?
Spaghetti Westerns were director Sergio Leone's cowboy take on Akira Kurosawa's Samurai movies like Yojimbo and Sanjuro. Of course, Kurosawa was also partly inspired by perhaps the greatest western-maker in cinema history, John Ford.
And we MAINLY know the Spaghetti Western in 2020 because of how much the subgenre influences Quentin Tarantino.
So that brings us to The Mandalorian, which has all of these things in it's DNA.
Youtube creator Kingkuda brings us this remix, and it's a fun visual ode to how the various influences still play together. Like a DJ mixing some of cinema's hottest tracks
