Everyone has doubts, and everyone has their own process. But with this three-minute pep-talk, David Hoffman manages to cut through all of that and help connect right to the heart of the matter, and the reason for the process. 

It might as well be the "clear eyes, full hearts, can't lose" of creativity, or certainly of documentary filmmaking. 

At the heart of Hoffman's message is the idea that we should take the process seriously, embrace our fears and nerves, respect the lasting power of the things we commit to video, and value the impact we can have on people in the future, and in the world around us. 

It's a lot to take in, in a short amount of time. But it's a rallying cry around why we do this, and why it can matter.
