For Canon USA customers, Canon has announced that it is reintroducing its CarePAK Plus services with a focus on its new full frame mirrorless flagship - the Canon EOS R. Let’s look at the complete list of what’s covered, how CarePAK Plus works and how you can sign up.

What is the CarePAK Plus?

Perhaps you’ve seen the online or TV ads already, but Canon is really making a marketing push for their new CarePAK Plus. It’s a good deal, but it also might be a good combination of both marketing its new camera offerings (namely their sexy new mirrorless EOS R), as well as a proactive measure to entice potential buyer’s who are on the fence about investing in something they could easily drop or break.

For those who didn’t use the CarePAK offering when it was around before, the Canon CarePAK Plus is Canon’s internal protection plan which is currently offering 13 months of free protection for those who buy one of the protected Canon products.

What Does Canon CarePAK Plus Cover?

The biggest aspect of Canon’s CarePAK Plus coverage is undoubtedly the accidental damage protection. Things happen, especially when you’re out on shoots and in dangerous weather and conditions. Unlike Canon’s standard warranty, the CarePAk Plus covers all accidential damage including drops, spills, power surges and pretty much anything else.

Along with full accidental damage and normal wear and tear coverage, the CarePAK plus includes free two-way shipping, full service and support and a $0 deductible.

The biggest catch, though, is for the 13 months of free coverage. To qualify, you have to make your purchase between between October 21, 2018 and January 5, 2019 and register your product within 30 days of your purchase. Once you do qualify, the Canon CarePAK Plus covers all of the following.
