Take Full Advantage of Your Camera’s 65 Sensors With These New Large-Format Zooms
A look at the new Angénieux EZ 65 Series, which includes two LPL-mount large-format zooms, both built around a 60mm image circle capable of covering the latest generation of larger-than-full-frame sensors.

Angénieux EZ 65 Series
The large-format movement is now in full force, with more options available at more affordable prices than ever before. From the Fujifilm GFX ETERNA 55 to the ARRI ALEXA 265 to the Blackmagic URSA 17K 65, filmmakers are in the midst of a large-scale revolution.
Yet, while these digital LF cameras are more readily available than ever before, that doesn’t mean everyone can grab one and dive into large-format cinematography and filmmaking right away. There’s a bit of a technology curve to catch up to, as filmmakers will have to level up not just their cameras, but their lenses and gear as well.
To help with this journey, more brands are recognizing that this revolution is afoot and are presenting new high-quality options for these larger-than-full-frame sensor cameras. The latest comes from Angénieux: the company’s new EZ 65 Series, set to feature two LPL-mount large-format zooms.
Let’s check them out.
The New Angénieux EZ 65 Series
As part of this large-format movement, Angénieux has announced its new Angénieux EZ 65 Series, a step up from its EZ zoom line into the 65 format. This series begins with two LPL-mount large-format zoom lenses, including the following models.
- Angénieux EZ-2 65 (27-72mm T3.6)
- Angénieux EZ-3 65 (82-300mm T4.2-T5.4)
These two new large-format zooms promise to take full advantage of your camera’s 65 sensor while still retaining all the intrinsic qualities of the company’s EZ series, with strong ergonomics, high resolution, and a cinematic yet familiar look and feel.
