If you're reading this article and on this website, then I have to imagine you want to be working in or are working in film or television. With careers and career aspirations like that, I'm guessing it might be hard for you to sit and watch most movies and TV shows. Chances are, you find it hard to lose yourself in the stories, because you're constantly battling with how you might do things differently.

Well, you're not alone. Cinematographer Caleb Deschanel feels the same way. Unless he's watching something truly great.

Check out this video from the Oscars and let's talk after the break.

What's so pure here is the ability to put all the noise and knowledge behind you and just enjoy cinema. As a writer, I often have trouble removing myself from the experience of the storytelling. But, man, when I get absorbed in a great movie, one that takes me on a ride that's unpredictable, I can't help but have fun.

As filmmakers and creators, we often like to think about how we can tackle a project. It's very rare to be taken out of work mode and into the story. But when it happens, you just go along for the ride and everything feels okay and beautiful.

What are some movies where this has happened for you?

Let me know in the comments.
