I know what it's like to have your work not reflect the time and effort you put into telling a story. But I also know what it's like to hear someone unhinged talk about how great their stuff is without the product to back it up. 

In this engaging sitdown, Nicolas Winding Refn claims that Only God Forgives is a masterpiece and that Drive is on par with Citizen Kane and 2001: A Space Odyssey. William Friedkin's reactions are worth seeing to believe. 


Film is a subjective medium. So people are always going to like some movies more than others. But it is obnoxious to hear people say their own work is masterful. Have some humility.
