Fujifilm has announced plans to release a firmware update for the X-T3 that will improve its autofocus performance.

According to the company, it's said to match the capabilities of the X-T4, which we got our hands on recently. We thought the AF performance did exceptionally well.

The firmware will boost the AF speed, the camera's AF tracking performance, as well as the Face/Eye AF. Additionally, the size of the AF area will be able to be adjusted during video recording, which will be a welcomed change for shooters. It's nice to see companies like Fujifilm continue to offer updates to older models in camera series.

You can expect other minor fixes and bugs as well.

Firmware version 4.0 for the X-T3 will be released on October 28, 2020. You will be able to download it here
