Back in April, Venus Optics showcased some impressive new glass at NAB 2019, including the Laowa 12mm t/2.9 Zero-D, a lens that isn't just fast and wide but also covers full-frame and beyond, including RED's 8K VistaVision sensor size (8192 x 4320).

Why is that a big deal? Well, given the fact that Venus Optics is known for making affordable yet pro-quality lenses, this means that filmmakers now have an inexpensive option when choosing lenses for projects shot on full-frame sensors, as well as the larger VistaVision sensor. We're talking the Blackmagic Pocket 6K, Z-Cam, Sony A7, Venice, and CineAlta, Kinefinity Mavo LF, and the RED Dragon and Monstruo 8K VV.
