The most fun I've ever had in a theater was seeing The Lord of the Rings movies. I saw Fellowship six times, and the viewings only went up from there. I couldn't get enough of Middle-earth. When I heard Amazon was bringing it to TV, I was worried it wouldn't hold up, but then I read they were spending a billion dollars on the show, I got very excited.
Well, yesterday they officially released the synopsis of the show online. You can watch the video release below or read the synopsis after that.

Beginning in a time of relative peace, the series follows an ensemble cast of characters, both familiar and new, as they confront the long-feared re-emergence of evil to Middle-earth. This sounds like an epic adventure, which is pretty much all I want from this show. Knowing we're going back in time within the realm makes me think there is a chance we're getting Saruman in this one, but I love the idea of new legends and characters.
We've heard hints of familiar faces. Could we see Legolas, Gandalf, or Gimli stroll across the screen? Time will tell.
This makes me really eager for the show to debut.
