You know we're big fans of The Lord of the Rings here on No Film School, so many of us are waiting with great excitement to see what Amazon does with the franchise in its new TV show, The Rings of Power. Amazon has been developing the series for several years, and reportedly committed to a five-season run at a very hefty price tag of roughly $1 billion.

This series will show Middle-earth in the Second Age, thousands of years before The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. We will supposedly get to explore how the dark lord Sauron forged the rings and came to power.

So far, the only confirmed cast member is Morfydd Clark as Galadriel, but in a bunch of character posters released today on the show's Twitter account, it looks like we'll be meeting other Elves, Men, and Dwarves very soon.
