Every day I thank God that Soderbergh never retired. He's come back with many interesting and challenging movies. I think we're lucky to have a creator like that riffing today.

His new movie is called No Sudden Move and follows a group of small-time criminals who are hired to steal emerging car technology. Their plan goes horribly wrong and weaves them through the race-torn, rapidly changing city of Detroit in 1955. The movie stars Don Cheadle, Benicio del Toro, David Harbour, Ray Liotta, Jon Hamm, Brendan Fraser, Kieran Culkin, Amy Seimetz, and Julia Fox.

Check out the trailer from HBO Max.

No Sudden Move debuts online July 1. You can stream it on HBO Max, where Soderbergh released his last film. He's becoming a big fan of this direct delivery system, and I love being able to access his stories right away.

No Sudden Move will have its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival on June 18, 2021. So catch it there or catch it when it hits HBO Max!
