Wooden Camera's Sleeker, Cheaper Shoulder Rig V.3 Is Now Shipping
You can now get your hands on the improved, cheaper versions of Wooden Camera's popular Shoulder Rig.
We covered Wooden Nickel's announced updates to the Shoulder Rig line at NAB in April. The updated versions are substantially redesigned and incorporate features like telescopic arms (Pro), additional arm rotation points (Pro) to widen or narrow grip spacing, a larger and more durable shoulder pad, and an integrated kickstand for setting the rig down.
Now, both the Base and Pro versions are shipping.
Another nice touch is that there are two shoulder pad options included to accommodate different shoulder sizes. Both versions use the Arri standard safety dovetail and are natively compatible with all Unified Baseplates, Unified Bridgeplates, and Dovetail Clamps. The Crossbar uses an integrated NATO standard rail with thumbscrews and can be quickly adjusted left and right for camera balance. The crossbar also has threaded holes for attaching monitors, rod clamps, cheese plates, battery mounts, and other accessories. Each version is available with brown leather or rubber hand grips.
Shoulder Rig v3 (Base)
V3 Base model with rubber handles
In addition to the more substantial shoulder pad, the V3 Base model is 18% lighter than the popular V2.
Shoulder Rig V3 (Pro)
V3 Pro model with leather handles
The Pro model has upgraded pivoting ARRI rosette mounts at each end of the crossbar, enabling full 360-degree rotation and two telescopic arms allowing for a much more ergonomic fit than with the Base model.
