Nikon Announces 3 New Lenses, Including a Super Telephoto Zoom & Cheaper 24mm Prime
Nikon's newest lenses really run the gamut for all sorts of different shooters.
The three lenses include the Nikon AF-S 24-70mm f/2.8E ED VR, Nikon AF-S 200-500mm f/5.6E ED VR Lens, and Nikon AF-S 24mm f/1.8G ED Lens. First up, here's the 24mm, which is retailing for around $750 (that's 1/3 the price of their high-end 24mm f/1.4), and should be out in September:
Specs:
- F Mount Lens/FX Format
- Aperture Range: f/1.8 to f/16
- Two ED and Two Aspherical Elements

Here is the 24-70mm f/2.8 VR, which has a revised optical design from the previous version, and adds Vibration Reduction for even steadier shots, and is shipping later this month for $2,400:

And here's the super telephoto zoom, the 200-500mm f/5.6 VR. This lens one-ups Nikon's own 200-400mm by adding 100mm, but it does lose about a stop more of light since that lens is an f/4. This 200-500mm will be shipping in September for about $1,400:
