Catch this awards show that is not the Oscars on broadcast or streaming this Saturday.
The denouement weekend of awards season is finally here, and it's not just the Academy that has a moment in the spotlight. The Film Independent Spirit Awards also take place on Saturday, February 25 at 2:00 pm PST / 5:00 pm EST. These awards, brought to us by the same folks responsible for the LA Film Festival, celebrate the best in independent film. The definition of "independent" in this case is hotly up for debate, with many of this year's nominated movies having budgets in the tens of millions. One thing we can pretty much guarantee, however, is that with comedians Nick Kroll and John Mulaney hosting, this show will be a lot more fun than a certain other event happening the following day.
Of course, we'll be updating the winners in real-time here at No Film School, but if you want to watch the pomp and circumstance yourself, Film Independent has provided this handy guide to everywhere you can catch it on broadcast and streaming:
Cable subscribers may use their login at IFC.com to live stream.
An on-demand version of the show will be made available on IFC.com by Tuesday, February 28 — no cable login necessary.
A live stream of the Spirit Awards will also be available on SundanceNow.com.
Sign up for a seven-day free trial and access the show via the web, iOS, Android, Roku, Apple TV and Chromecast. An on-demand version of the show will be made available to Sundance Now members shortly after the completion of the telecast.
