Introducing the $17,000 3D VR Camera for Google

Yi Technology unveils Yi Halo, the newest VR camera for Google's Jump system.

If you found a few extra dollars in your couch cushions, you might want to hang on to them for the Yi Halo, Yi Technology's latest 3D-360 virtual reality camera that will sell for $17,000 this summer. It's tied to Google's cloud-based stitching solution, Jump, aimed to take the manual implementation of creating stereoscopic videos.

The camera combines 16 spherically aligned 4K action cameras with an extra camera facing upward. The Yi Halo also has a dedicated LCD screen to monitor each sensor, battery life, and other features. The kit includes two extra cameras (in case one breaks while shooting), an SD card reader, and batteries.

No word yet if it comes with a used Fiat for the price, but check out the video above for all the details.
