With all the heat around full-frame sensors, it's important to remember that most of that activity is at the top end of the market and will be rental only for most of us. Kinefinity, a Chinese camera company, hopes to change that with their new Mavo cinema cameras, available with both Super 35mm and full-frame rame sensors. So far, only the Super 35mm price point has been announced ($8000), but the full-frame price and shipping date should be available soon and is likely to be relatively similar (scaled up, of course) to the pricing on the existing Kinefinity line.
We recently ran a review of the original Kinefinity 4K and are excited to see that level of image quality and functionality expand to 6K resolution and full-frame sensors. Along with the new bodies, they are rolling out a line of affordable full-frame cinema glass as well.
$8000 body only, $9500 for kit with two batteries, side grip, and Kinemonitor. They still offer the 4K body for $4000. For more check out Kinefinity's website. Mavo LF will have price and shipping info this fall.
