Just a year after the stunner about Fujifilm finally dropping the “film” part of its name and becoming “FujiBlockChain”. We have more big April news to share!

Well, Canon once again takes the cake for crazy announcements. After recently teasing an 8K EOS R mirrorless camera reported “on the roadmap” in the future (this is true, btw), the manufacturer has surprised everyone with an Apr. 1st press release unveiling a fully functioning 16K EOS R which promises to “destroy the market”.

Let’s take a look at this bad boy and it’s superfied specs (and somehow a price point under $100,000).

While Canon just released its first follow up to its mirrorless EOS R with the EOS RP (which has been ho-hum for video professionals from reviews so far), Canon has been teasing a bigger, better EOS R version with updates like IBIS for some time now.

However, with this - once again - APRIL 1ST press release, we can confirm that a 16K EOS R is here and absolutely stacked with everything any filmmaker or videographer would ever want. Just look at these specs!

As you can see with the price, Canon definitely had to pull out all the stops for R&D on this one and is passing the cost onto the user. However, in an age where pixel count means more than anything to most filmmakers, having the ability to brag about your 16K video camera to your friends would be well worth the investment.
