After the explosion documentary,Leaving Neverland, The Simpsons has decided to pull one of their most beloved episodes featuring the pop star. We recently covered the story that radio stations across the globe were pulling Michael Jackson from their rotation

The episode in question, 1991’s season 3 premiere, “Stark Raving Dad,” will be removed from syndication and streaming platforms according to 20th Century Fox. The episode revolves around Homer being sent to a psychiatric institution, where he rooms with a man who says he's Michael Jackson. Although not credited, Jackson voiced the character of Leon Kompowsky, and famously sang "Lisa It's your Birthday" as a gift from Bart to his sister.

Paraphrasing, but James L. Brooks told the Journal that the decision to pull the episode from circulation came after he, creator Matt Groening, and showrunner Al Jean viewed the new HBO documentary, in which two men explain that Jackson molested them when they were children. “The guys I work with — where we spend our lives arguing over jokes — were of one mind on this,” said Brooks.

While the Jackson family is suing HBO, public outrage has been fervent. The accusations within the documentary are scathing and add to a long line of evidence against the pop star

“This was a treasured episode,” Brooks told the Wall Street Journal. “There are a lot of great memories we have wrapped up in that one, and this certainly doesn’t allow them to remain.”
