The 2019 Black List is Here!
Here are some of the industry executives' favorite scripts of the year.
The Black List is an annual tradition amongst Hollywood executives. They all vote on their favorite spec scripts of the year and then compile those votes into an annual list.
This list gets passed around and becomes every assistant's reading list over the holiday.
A reminder from The Black List: "The Black List is not a “best of” list. It is, at best, a “most liked” list."
Their official statement about the list is as follows:
"Throughout its fifteen-year history, The Black List’s mission has remained the same: To identify and celebrate great screenwriting. Today as we look back at the history of the Black List, we honor the hard work, ceaseless dedication, and remarkable craft of storytellers and filmmakers everywhere who have helped bring these incredible stories to life."
Some of these scripts become movies like Lena Waithe’s Queen and Slim, Mindy Kaling’s Late Night as well as Minhal Baig’s Hala.
Other titles become popular calling cards that get writers work all over town.
You can read all the Black List titles and loglines on Blcklst.com or download a PDF of the 2019 Black List here!
We have a list without all the votes below. There are 66 scripts on this year’s list.
