I have been waiting for months to see the new trailer for a Steven Spielberg movie, and it's finally here.

Spielberg's mysterious return to the UFO genre has caused tumors to swirl, as cryptic billboards declaring "All Will Be Disclosed" popped up in major cities, and fans have been buzzing about a potential spiritual successor to classics like Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

Well, the wait is finally over.

Universal Pictures has just dropped the explosive first trailer for the director's highly anticipated new sci-fi epic, officially titled Disclosure Day.

Let's check out the trailer below.

Disclosure Day Trailer

As the trailer shows, we're in for a creepy and powerful ride.

The film stars Emily Blunt, Josh O'Connor, and Colin Firth; and the footage offers our first glimpse into a world on the brink of an earth-shattering revelation.

We have hints at high-stakes action, government cover-ups, and an alien threat that looks anything but friendly.

The teaser is just over two minutes and pulls apart a world where we are finding out we're not alone in the universe. We see a lot of people and high-tech gadgets, posing over our place in the known world and how that's all about to change.

The teaser concludes with a moment of classic Spielbergian wonder, using a profound, theological question to underline the scope of the film: "Why would he make such a vast universe yet save it only for us?"

We also see humans teaming up with animals, which was pretty neat.

That seems to be the central question of the film, which is so exciting.

We haven't had Spielberg doing science fiction like this since maybe Minority Report, and he hasn't taken on aliens since whatever you classify the interdimensional beings as in Crystal Skull.

You get that jolt of wonderment from a few shots that immediately reminded me why I love Spielberg and how good he is at pulling the audience in with big questions but making them stay for deeply personal stories.

The film is scheduled to be released on June 12, 2026.

And I plan on being first in line to see it.

Let me know what you think in the comments.
