A career spanning 40+ years and working with ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS and more, the Los Angeles based Jody Eldred is an accomplished filmmaker, DP, author, speaker, producer, and editor.
No Film School caught up with Eldred at Cinegear 2019 to discuss his journey towards being a Blackmagic owner-operator. Jody catalogues his first experience with the original Blackmagic Cinema Camera—not a positive one—all the way through the gradual improvements made by Blackmagic to the point where he's fully satisfied with the Ursa Mini Pro system. The brand-agnostic Eldred now prefers shooting Blackmagic and shares his expertise from a recent shoot in Uganda, Africa using pre-production Ursa Mini G2s.
