Lensrentals is holding its first-ever short film contest where creators can pitch an original idea and win a prize package worth an estimated $5,000 to make their film.

The contest runs from now until Jan. 29, 2021, and the judging panel, which includes Charles Haine of No Film School, is looking for the best short film ideas (5-7 minutes in length) in no particular genre.

How to Pitch

To pitch, you'll need to submit a 1-3 minute video to YouTube explaining your idea to the judges.

In addition to the video pitch, there needs to be a written pitch, which can be an abbreviated copy of the script, logline, or synopsis submitted by the deadline date.

The video pitch must be submitted to YouTube and the written pitch on the FilmFreeway platform. Lensrentals says all submissions must be submitted through FilmFreeway.

The winning entry will be announced around Feb. 8. You can read all the contest details over at the contest page
