Teradek has made amazing strides in getting zero-latency wireless video into all aspects of your production workflow. As a member of VITEC Creative Solutions, they have now stepped out of the confines of the set and into the cloud.
With the release of the Teradek Serv 4K, the wireless video company is making the most out of its partnership with Frame.io.
The new device will provide flexible and streamlined workflows for any production in glorious 4K HDR. Real-time creative collaboration and decision-making will be possible on and off set, giving creatives opportunities to craft their image and story from anywhere in the world.

The Teradek Serv 4K
Teradek positions the Serv 4K as a next-gen production-streaming product. It will take the local-streaming functionality of the Serv Pro and combine them with the cloud-streaming tools of the Teradek Cube.
This will be expanded to offer 4K HDR to connect creatives and productions that are still struggling to work efficiently in a post-2020 world.
The Serv 4K is upgraded with a higher bitrate encode using H.264 or H.265 with 256-bit encryption and HDR (DCI-P3, PQ2084) throughput. This allows for 4K60p 10bit 4:2:2 video to be securely streamed live or as instant recordings on set and to remote viewers using Frame.io. HEVC and AVC compression is also supported and everything is pumped through a 12G-SDI connection that offers video in and loop through.

Physical setup is pretty much plug-and-play, and the device is controlled with a web UI or mobile app for a super simple workflow.
Up to 20 devices can stream on a local network using Teradek’s Vuer app. There’s also iOS, Android, PC, macOS, and AppleTV support. But if you want to access cloud-based livestreaming or upload instant recordings to the Teradek Core or Frame.io, there’s no limit to how many devices you can use.
If for some reason, your internet connection is lost, anything you record is saved to SD cards for secure upload once the connection has been restored.
