The current version of the Panasonic Video Mixer plug-in offers some noteworthy tools, such as AI Keying, which can extract subjects from backgrounds without requiring a green screen, and Smart Switching, which enables quick application of various compositing patterns with a single click.
However, Version 2 aims to enhance these capabilities even further with AI-driven improvements. One of the key new additions is going to be an AI Effect Filter, which will use AI-based face detection and recognition for real-time mosaic processing.
When installed on a PC, Panasonic reports that this plug-in will be able to automatically detect faces during shooting and apply preset filter effects, such as mosaics, in real-time.
Along with this AI Effect Filter, the Panasonic Video Mixer Plug-in Version 2 will also add a new AI Face Crop tool that offers automatic face PinP (picture-in-picture) processing designed to streamline live video production.
Using this AI face detection technology, the system will be able to identify and track specific individuals and automatically insert their faces as PinP overlays. Plus, by allowing a single camera to display multiple face PinP overlays simultaneously, the new feature will aim to further eliminate the need for multiple cameras.
A perk that even non-professionals will possibly be able to efficiently manage multi-person video production for streaming corporate events, lectures, etc., as well as broadcasting.
