Sony has been busy this year. Just last month, Sony announced the 8K Alpha 1, which went on to generate some very interesting footage (and comments) at Super Bowl LV.

Before that, of course, was the much-anticipated release of the a7S III, as well as the FX6 and the 35mm F1.4 G Master lens (which has been delayed) among others.

There’s no way we’re getting an a7S IV, so what has Sony got up its sleeve this time?

What we know for sure is that it is a new Cinema Line camera. The Sony description reads, “Be ready for the announcement of the new Alpha February 23rd, 10:00 EST.”

Rumors have the announcement pegged as most likely the FX3. But we will just have to wait and see.

If the rumors are true, this camera is all about size.

Also, where is the Sony Camera division coming up with the creative energy to put all these new cameras in the pipeline? Just last year, the camera department actually became its own corporate entity. Maybe the new umbrella status has given Sony engineers the zest to try out cool, new things. Either way, it makes for exciting camera news.
