See What's Really Going on Inside Nikon Lenses

Earlier this year we looked at similar videos for Canon lenses, and now it's interesting to see one of the other major lens makers show off the tech inside their lenses:

We take them for granted in some ways, but lenses are getting faster, smaller, and sharper, especially compared to when they were designed without the aid of computers. I'm a geek so I love seeing how things work, but the video really gives you an appreciation for how complex and how cheap they are considering everything that's happening inside them.

This is more of a nighttime weed video then a morning coffee video.

What's up with all the math equations in the background? I don't like to be subliminally convinced that their lenses are super duper technical.

Who knew lens technology could make you want to dance so much.

Shows how little we as filmmakers actually need. More than half of our money is going towards the electronics and technology behind these lenses. I hope to see more affordable "video/ cinema" lenses in the future.
