We stopped by Panasonic's booth at NAB and there we were able to get acquainted with a couple of SLR Magic's anamorphic lenses paired with the GH4.
Last year, Panasonic announced their new GH4 firmware update that gave users the option to shoot in anamorphic mode, but unfortunately the software was a little bit out of sync with optics. Here Panasonic demos a 35mm and 50mm, with prices ranging from $2,500 to $3,000 and full kits costing $8,500.

Same here. I wish I could afford the set. It's very, very tempting!

35mm on a MFT? That's essentially a 70mm focal length. Any Canon EF mounts?

You forget that the anamorphic optic widens the focal length, so a 35mm is more in the mid 40's.

When making my previous post, I didn't realize NFS was talking about the 2x versions in this video. In that case the focal length of the lenses are pretty much returned to 35 and 50mm equivalents.

Any word on release dates for these?

Loving their response about why they are bringing so many features into the GH4 instead of just junking it and placing some on the GH5. Sounded like it was a little (but effective) jab at Sony.
Great stuff nonetheless, makes me really want to invest into Micro Four Thirds.

I'd love to learn more about how the GH4 handles Anamorphic output via the YAGH over SDI. Wouldn't it be able to push the full image?
