Broken Anchor Has Created the World's First Universal Focus Ring Adapter

Broken Anchor Design clears the clutter in follow focus accessories.

No Film School contributor Charles Haine reviewed Broken Anchor Design's universal follow focus system Zero late last year, but for those who may have missed it, we stopped by the Broken Anchor booth during NAB, where Josh Turner from the company broke down this unique product.

As Haine points out, "The ring can be fitted on any lens with a 60-90mm lens body diameter, which covers a surprisingly large array of lenses, especially still and vintage glass." Check out the video above to see if it's the right tool for you.

Tech Specs

  • 60-90mm lens barrel diameter
  • 2.25lbs of force on the lens
  • 30A durometer grip pads
  • Auto centers on lens
  • .8 module gear pitch, industry standard
  • 136g weight
  • 125mm outer diameter
  • 26mm width

The headline is misleading - I thought this was a universal lens adapter to connect any lens to any body. This is a universal focus gear that fits on any lens. Still a cool product, but you might want to edit the headline to be clear this is a focus ring adapter specifically.

+1 Definitely should be mentioned in the headline that this is a universally-fitting focus gear ring, not a lens adapter.
