SLR Magic Joins the Micro Prime Race
SLR Magic has released brand new primes. (And they're micro.)
SLR Magic has some brand new lenses on the market. From its previously released APO series of lenses, the company added a new 32mm T2.1 lens. Also, the APO series now comes in EF mount. Before you had to purchase a titanium adaptor that cost $700 to use the PL mount lenses on an EF mount camera. The new APO lenses can be purchased with an EF mount for an additional $100 and a new aluminum adaptor that only cost $500, so you can have both PL and EF if you so choose. These new EF mount primes ship next month and cost $2,500-$2,600 each.
In addition, SLR Magic released their new Cine Micro Primes for E mount. These primes have the same optics as the EF lenses, and covers up to full-frame.T hey have a 150-degree focus throw and internal focusing so the lens doesn't extend. All the lenses have a standard 82mm thread, so one filter fits all. The Cine Micro Primes are available in 25mm, 35mm, and 75mm but an 18mm is in the works. Each lens cost about $799.
