It might be time to pack up your winter coat and the latest edition of Final Draft. After a successful inaugural run in 2017, the Middlebury Script Lab (based in Middlebury, Vermont) will be returning for a second, writing-intensive edition from January 11th - January 16th, 2019.

A six-day mentorship program designed for writers working on their first or second feature-length screenplays, the Lab brings together industry professionals—including producers, agents, and fellow screenwriters, including, last year, our very own Ryan Koo—to the cozy city of Middlebury to mentor six emerging screenwriters, one of which could end up being yourself.

If feedback is what you're looking for, this Lab can provide it in spades. As the Lab's website makes clear, "writers who find brainstorming and discussion helpful will get the most out of the Script Lab." After participating in an almost week-long program of master classes and workshops, the Script Lab concludes with a pitching workshop and a public reading of the fellows' selected work.

How do you know if you're eligible? If you're a resident of the United States, over 18 years of age, and have completed a first draft of a screenplay (between 75-120 pages) that isn't based on pre-existing material, you are eligible to submit.

To apply, you will need to submit a PDF of the first 10 pages of your screenplay (if selected as a finalist, you will be contacted by October 15th with a request for the full screenplay), a one-page synopsis, a five-to-eight page treatment, and a completed application.

The Regular Deadline to apply to the Lab is September 1st, 2018 with a Late Deadline of October 1st, 2018. To apply, click here
