The new 5,000 square foot space designed to inspire and educate aspiring filmmakers. Located behind the ASC Clubhouse, the ASC ARRI Educational Center provides meeting spaces as well as an archive of American Cinematographer, the ASC magazine that celebrates the art of filmmaking.

The Center's opening lands on the 100th birthday of the organization, a moment that for ASC President Kees van Oostrum, signifies ASC's devotion to training and education. "It is thrilling to see the educational commitment of the ASC solidified through this endeavor,” President Kees van Oostrum noted in an ASC press release. "For me, it manifests our mission for the next 100 years."

For camera and lighting system manufacturer ARRI, collaborating and supporting the Educational Center is a natural progression of its relationship with the ASC. For the last year, ARRI has been co-hosting Master Classes with the ASC, including multiple five-day seminars in Los Angeles and an International Master Class in Mexico City. Now, ARRI continues its devotion to education by not only supporting the new educational center but continuing the International Master Classes for the next decade.

The ASC celebrated its 100th birthday with a gathering at the clubhouse on September 28th, 2019, which also marked the official opening of the center. Happy Birthday, ASC and here's to more "Loyalty, Progress, and Artistry."
