Canon Announces New VIXIA Camcorders (Including New 4K G-Series)

According to official press releases, Canon has unveiled their “first G-Series Camcorder” with the new VIXIA HF G50 which can record 4K at 30fps and with 20x optical zoom.

Canon has also announced two additional new “lifestyle” camcorder options with the waterproof and shockproof VIXIA HF W11 and VIXIA HF W10 camcorders.

The Canon VIXIA HF G50 4K

Introduced as the first G-Series camcorder to feature 4K video recording at 30fps, the VIXIA HF G50 promises to be a solid option for run-and-gun filmmakers, videographers (specifically for wedding videographers as Canon suggests) and journalist and student reporters.

To go along with the VIXIA HF G50, Canon has also announced two rough-and-tumble consumer-level camcorder options with the VIXIA HF W11 and VIXIA HF W10. Both models are waterproof, shockproof and dustproof and feature 1920x1080 Full HD video recording and 40x optical (and 60x digital) zoom functions.
