True Detective's third season returns the series to its successful season one roots in terms of plot structure and format, but could it also be returning to the same universe? 


The Ringer thinks so. They seem to have caught a moment where we see detectives Ruste Cohle and Marty Hart on a laptop.

Between seasons one and three we have six different timelines: 1980, 1990, 1995, 2002, 2012, and 2015.
