Meet the 2019 DGA Nominees in this Two-Hour Conversation
And the award went to...
While the 2019 Directors Guild of America (DGA) Awards may be in the books, a two-and-a-half hour conversation between the five nominees for Feature Film that took place prior to the event has been preserved and uploaded onto the guild's Youtube channel.
The nominees—Bradley Cooper (A Star is Born), Alfonso Cuarón (Roma), Peter Farrelly (Green Book), Spike Lee (BlackKklansman), and Adam McKay (Vice)—participate in this extensive conversation that goes deep into each gentleman's craft, beginning with a question of how they prepare the night before shooting a scene. What kind of homework has to be done?
Cuarón ultimately went on to win the DGA Award for Feature Film soon after this conversation took place, but make no mistake, each of the five men featured in the conversation take center stage throughout various parts of the evening.
