The New DJI Osmo Pocket 4P Premieres at Cannes With Promises of Big Screen Applications
Teased last week, DJI officially unveiled its new Osmo Pocket 4P, a pocket-sized gimbal camera that aims to deliver high-end cinematic imaging.

DJI Osmo Pocket 4P Cannes
Announced via a teaser we covered last week, DJI shares that the official premiere of its new Osmo Pocket 4P gimbal camera is at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival this week. This follow-up to the popular DJI Osmo Pocket 4 is a bigger, more powerful option with dual cameras and higher cinematic capabilities.
But does the DJI Osmo Pocket 4P offer enough high-end cinema specs and features to actually be an option for big-screen filmmakers, even if they are indie or studio? Let’s take a look at the new Osmo Pocket 4P from DJI and explore what it has to offer, thanks to this Cannes premiere.
DJI Osmo Pocket 4P Premiere
It might be a marketing gimmick, of course, but DJI’s decision to premiere the new Osmo Pocket 4P at the Cannes Film Festival in France is pretty on-the-nose for how the company wants to position this new pocket-sized gimbal camera with its cinematic ambitions.
And from this film festival debut, we have more to share about what makes the Osmo Pocket 4P a unique, more cinematically capable follow-up to the previous Osmo Pocket 4 model. The Pocket 4P is set to build on the company’s top-end camera gimbal technology, as seen in the Ronin 4D, as well as its popular (yet blacklisted) drones.
The DJI Osmo Pocket 4P will feature what the company calls a “cinematic-level dynamic range for rich tonal depth,” along with 10-bit D-Log2 color performance. As you might expect, the pocket-gimbal camera will also feature advanced stabilization, all packed into a quite small and easy-to-transfer form factor.

Cinematic Ambitions
Still, even with this Cannes premiere, we don’t have all the full specs and features for this new pocket gimbal camera outlined just yet. We do have plenty of quotes from the company that further attempt to tie its release to its push into higher-end productions and to bring more cinematic quality overall to its products.
“At Cannes, the Osmo Pocket 4P is already being explored by filmmakers, documentary creators, and visual storytellers seeking agile, high-quality production tools. Its compact form, paired with cinematic imaging performance, positions it as a compelling companion for independent filmmakers and a powerful storytelling device for documentary work. The debut at Cannes reinforces the idea that cinematic storytelling is no longer confined to large-scale rigs, but can now exist in a device small enough to carry anywhere.” - DJI
The company continues to promise that the Osmo Pocket 4P marks a new direction for it to continue developing products aimed at inspiring “a new generation of mobile-first filmmakers,” and that it will continue to introduce new products across its gimbals, drones, audio, and stabilization solutions.

Price and Availability
As mentioned above, we still don’t have full details on price and availability just yet. And, as has been the case with many new DJI products as of late, we’re also not sure if the Osmo Pocket 4P will even be available in the US at launch. So, for those details, stay tuned for more info soon.
