With NAB 2026 only being a few days away, the announcements from companies and brands in the film and video space are ramping up. We’ve seen new live production cameras, major changes to the NLE landscape, and even GoPro moving into the cinema camera space.

DJI, for its part, is focused on what it does best, having announced a new pocket gimbal camera, the DJI Osmo Pocket 4. Powered by a 1-inch CMOS sensor, this new pocket gimbal camera is set to capture 4K/240fps footage and clear low-light shots, with impressive specs and features.

Here’s what you need to know about this next-gen Osmo Pocket from DJI.

DJI Osmo Pocket 4 Introduced

Set to feature some pretty serious video recording capabilities, the Osmo Pocket 4 is coming hot out of the box with the ability to capture 4K/240fps footage and clearer low-light shots for cinematic depth, thanks to 14 stops of dynamic range and 10-bit D-Log.

As we’ve seen with previous Osmo Pocket models, there’s also a host of helpful features, like intelligent tracking capabilities, that can help users keep their subjects in focus and in frame even when recording in crowded markets or sets.

The Osmo Pocket 4 will be powered by a 1-inch CMOS sensor and an f/2.0 aperture, which should help provide clear, crisp imaging even in low light and capture rich tones and true-to-life colors.

The Osmo Pocket 4 will also now feature a dedicated Zoom button, letting users switch between 1x and 2x lossless zoom with one tap, as well as record Ultra HD slow-motion footage up to 4K/240fps.

Smarter and More Intuitive Features

Overall, the Osmo Pocket 4 represents a nice step up for DJI in what a pocket gimbal camera is capable of,, not just in specs but also in intelligent, helpful features. In particular, the Osmo Pocket 4 will feature three-axis stabilization that should provide sturdy support for all types of content capture and motion.

Plus, with its ActiveTrack 7.0, subjects can be tracked at up to 4x zoom and can use new tracking modes such as Spotlight, Follow, and Dynamic Framing. The Intelligent AutoFocus is also improved and now features gesture controls.

There are also new ways to start and stop recording with a simple screen, rotations, as well as a new 5D joystick that lets users move the camera backward, recenter, or flip on the fly. Here’s a fuller list of the newest features:

  • Slow Shutter Video: In Video mode, shutter speeds can be adjusted to create motion blur, capturing movement trails and the passage of time for a unique visual experience.
  • Film Tone: Choose from a range of film tones to easily recreate classic styles and capture master-grade tones.
  • In-Camera Beautify: Fine-tune skin smoothness, brightness, and tone for a natural look in both selfies and group shots.
  • Attachable Fill Light: Adds natural, soft lighting to enhance low-light or backlit scenes, with three brightness and temperature settings.
  • Extended Runtime & Fast Charging: Recharge from 0 to 80% in just 18 minutes for up to three hours of shooting. When fully charged, it can record up to 240 minutes of 1080p/24fps footage.

Price and Availability

Continuing a trend that is still kind of confusing, DJI has announced that the Osmo Pocket 4 has been launched “globally,” but has not provided exact details on whether and when that might include the US. This is notable as previous DJI products have not been released in the US in part due to DJI’s effective drone ban... read more here.

For now, though, it sounds like the DJI Osmo Pocket 4 is available for pre-order, and units should start shipping next week. For now, you can find more info on pricing and availability on DJI’s website.
