At 'X Summit' in London, Fujifilm confirmed reports that the X-T4 will be unveiled on February 26. It was only about 16 months ago Fujifilm released the X-T3, and if the rumored specs are true, the mirrorless camera will record higher resolution and have in-body image stabilization (IBIS).
Fujifilm's smaller X Series cameras have traditionally lacked IBIS because of its size, but with video becoming a greater focus, Fujifilm is trying to engineer a smaller IBIS system. The current X Series flagship introduced in 2018, the X-H1, does have IBIS. There are also unconfirmed reports the X-T4 could record 6K at 60p 10-bit internally, have a fully-fully-articulating screen, an improved EVF, new battery and a slightly larger footprint. We'll know its exact feature set in a few weeks.
GF Lens Roadmap
Fujifilm jumped into large format with the announcement of the GFX 50R, GFX 50S and the GFX 100, a camera capable of recording 4K DCI 4:2:0 10-bit internally (4:2:2 via HDMI) using its 43.8mm x 32.9mm sensor. Along with the cameras came the G-mount with 13 focal lengths in the lineup. In January, Fujifilm revealed the development of the GF 30mm f/3.5 R WR and GF 80mm f/1.7 R WR. It was thought the 30mm would be available in 2020 and the 80mm in 2021, but at X Summit, Fujifilm has confirmed both lenses will be available this year. There will also be a firmware update for the GFX cameras to improve functionality.
Fujifilm X100V
During the stream, Fujifilm also announced its X100V, a compact camera built around its latest 26.1MP back-illuminated X-Trans CMOS 4 sensor and X-Processor 4. The portable camera has a new 23mm f/2 lens, hybrid viewfinder, and 2-way tilting LCD. Not surprisingly, the X100V can record 4K video up to 30 frames per second or 120p at 1080p internally. You can also get 10-bit 4:2:2 color externally via the HDMI.
