Fujifilm has released the Fujinon GF30mm F3.5 R WR, a wide angle prime lenses for large format cameras. The focal length is equivalent to 24mm in traditional full-frame format and is compatible with Fujifilm's GFX series cameras. The lens is the latest prime in the G mount series, giving filmmakers another option in image capture.

Optically, its designed in 13 elements in 10 groups including two aspherical and two extra-low dispersion elements. Fujifilm says the lens grouping is positioned to control aberrations including distortion. The fast 3.5 aperture has a 9 blade aperture design with a minimum focusing distance of 12" (32 cm). Similar to the other available focal lengths, it has a dust and weather-resistant design.

The lens weighs approximately 18 ounces (510g) and is compact at only 3.9" in length and a maximum diameter of 3.3". The lens uses an internal focusing system and has quiet autofocus. Fujifilm says the focus breathing is only 0.05%, making it ideal for video shooters. For those with filters, it has a 52mm front diameter to attach accessories. The lens is able to capture all the image detail found on the 102MP GFX100 as well as the GFX 50S and GFX 50R models. The lens joins 7 other G mount prime lenses and 3 zooms.
