Making Gameplay Videos Is Easier with New HitFilm 13 Express Update
The HitFilm Express 13 update will also offer cinematic 4K support.
At IBC, FXHome announced a cool new update to HitFilm Express 13, the free version of their successful free non-linear editing suite. The major update includes several new features, including cinematic 4K support, masking from the timeline, layer and track locking, and a new ability to create a picture-in-picture "let's play" videos thanks to some new Fortnight themed effects tutorials. That means that your favorite gamer can do double duty as a content creator and maybe make a living at playing their favorite games.
While HitFilm already supports standard 4K streams, users have been asking that FXHome turns things up a notch by offering more professional, cinematic 4K options including DCI 4K (4096 x 2160).

Here's a fast breakdown on what is new in HitFilm Express 13:

- Masking from the Editor: Masking can now be done directly in the editing timeline, saving time and effort when working on quick compositing jobs;
- Mocha HitFilm Upgrade: HitFilm Express’ planar tracker (an optional add-on) - Mocha HitFilm - has been upgraded in line with the newest updates from Boris FX;
