In anticipation of season 3 of Stranger Things on July 4th, FXhome has created a tutorial for super fans to recreate the “Upside Down” using HitFilm Pro.

The tutorial features an integrated Foundry 3D camera tracker that will be in HitFilm version 13, to be released this July. This new feature should please HitFilm Pro users, as it seems to be a commonly requested feature in forums and comments sections. FXhome will also release the project files from the tutorial for download when HitFilm Pro 13 is released.

HitFilm Pro, for the uninitiated, is a popular and reasonably priced VFX, editing, animation, titling, compositing, and motion tracking tool. The technology is rock solid, integrating well-known professional tools like Mocha, Boris Continuum 3D Objects, BCC Title Studio, and outstanding particle simulator technology.

FXhome Storewide 25% Off Sale (through 7/4)

To further celebrate the new season of Stranger Things, the FXHome Store has everything in the store on sale for 25% off through July 4th. That brings the price of HitFilm Pro down to $224.25, including a year of free updates.

The other tools on sale are:

  • HitFilm Studio
  • Imerge Pro 3
  • Ignite Pro 4
  • Action Pro 1
  • Filmstro

HitFilm Express is also always available for free download. FXhome sells a substantial number of low-priced HitFilm Express add-ons, too, which are on sale right now as well.

These are incredibly popular tools; the FXhome store has over 4 million users. It's a good time to download the Express Version, play with it, and see if you love it enough to upgrade to the professional tools while they're on sale.

We'd also really like to see what our readers have created using HitFilm Pro or Express tools. Please include links in the comments.
