New 'House of the Dragon' Teaser Opens Us Up to a New Westeros
Are you ready to go back to Westeros?
Set 200 years before the events we saw unfold in HBO’s Game of Thrones, House of the Dragon is the story of the Targaryen family trying to hold the Iron Throne as they pass it down to a woman. It promises tumult in the kingdom and lots of dragon fire.
House of the Dragon was created by Game of Thrones author George R. R. Martin and Ryan J. Condal, and it's based on Martin’s novel Fire & Blood.

That looked amazing. So many new characters to meet, and so much intrigue. Variety reports that the show cost HBO under $20 million per episode to produce its 10-episode first season. That's almost double what it cost to do the last seasons of Game of Thrones.
The new series premieres Aug. 21, 2022.
